Director T1, Intermediate Care Unit/CVICU

Reading Hospital, part of Tower Health, is seeking a Director for T1, a 30-bed private room intermediate Care Unit (IMU) Unit located in the Reading HealthPlex, a new tower which opened at Reading Hospital in October of 2016, which combines state-of-the-art technology and world-class design.

Key Opportunities, the Director will:

  • Lead and manage day to day operations for the unit with responsibility for approximately 50 FTEs.
  • Report to the Divisional Director for the IMUs and work closely with the Medical Director, a Cardiologist, in a dyad partnership to provide exemplary services.
  • Facilitate cardiovascular surgery expansion by converting 15 of the IMU beds to CVICU beds.
  • Continue to support the model of care, Relationship Based Care, and engage the team in shared governance.

Education and Experience Criteria

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, one of which must be in Nursing.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in PA or eligible for licensure.
  • Progressive unit-based leadership experience in Cardiovascular Services. CVICU experience highly preferred.
  • Clinical specialty or Administrative certification.
  • Ability to support a culture of Magnet.
