Interim Nurse Managers

Kirby Bates Associates, Inc, a national retained patient care leadership search and healthcare consulting firm is seeking Interim Nurse Manager candidates to serve in various unit based leadership roles across the country. Interim Managers will be expected to focus on refining functional processes, improve patient outcomes, provide leadership for change, assume daily operational management responsibilities, set operational priorities, and provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to staff.


The candidate must have a current and valid RN licensure with the ability to apply for licensure in multiple states, as well as relevant management experience including: patient care delivery, clinical benchmarking, outcome measures, leadership development, Magnet concepts, demonstrated positive physician relationships, and process improvement. The candidate must also have the ability to analyze financial data and use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and the internet.

Interim Managers require a Baccalaureate in Nursing, with a Master degree in Nursing or related degree highly preferred. Specialty certification is also preferred. A minimum of ten years of hospital management experience required. Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, leadership, organizational, and writing skills, with the ability to provide feedback in direct, constructive, and behavioral terms essential. Interim Managers travel home every other weekend and are provided housing and transportation reimbursement.
