The Manager of Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum and Operating Room will be on the leading edge of expanding healthcare access in a rural community while enjoying the excitement of a new, one year old, state of the art facility.

THE POSITION
The Manager, Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum and Operating Room (LDRP/OR) will demonstrate strong relationship building and communication skills to provide leadership to nursing and support staff to engage their support, create ownership of goals, and promote active participation in decisions that impact the patients, family and community. The Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of hospital policies, standards and programs that support the clinical practice of nursing. Department responsibilities include preadmission testing, same-day surgery, operating room, post anesthesia care units, sterile processing departments and inpatient obstetrical services. The Manager participates in strategic planning, financial forecasting and other aspects of patient care delivery. The Manager maintains necessary regulatory, compliance and accreditations standards for areas of responsibility. This position also focuses on staff education and competencies, and performance improvement initiatives with an emphasis on patient safety activities. The Manager will also create models for managing variable volume and be actively engage in promoting recruitment and retention of staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; licensed/eligible for Massachusetts Registered Nurse license.
  • A minimum of five years of recent clinical nursing experience in OR or OB.
  • Previous leadership experience as a manager, charge nurse, coordinator, assistant manager, or team leader preferably in perioperative services.
  • Professional certification such as CNOR or AWONN.
  • Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and critical thinking skills.

Nantucket is an island located 30 miles south of Cape Cod, MA. It is a summer destination marked by unpainted cedar-shingled buildings, many surrounded by manicured privets.
