Kirby Bates Associates has been exclusively retained by Boston Children’s Hospital to conduct a search for their next Senior Director, Respiratory Care and ECMO.

The Senior Director, Respiratory Care & ECMO, oversees all clinical, administrative, and educational operations of the Respiratory Therapy and Mechanical Circulatory Support department, ensuring adherence to current standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. This role also develops quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives and fosters a collaborative environment that supports clinical excellence, professional growth, and innovation.

The Senior Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing respiratory therapy and mechanical life support services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies. This position collaborates with other divisions, departments, and medical staff to ensure high-quality care and manages financial responsibilities to control expenses within their areas.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Current registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Neonatal Pediatric Specialist.
  • At least 10 years of clinical experience with four years being in a neonatal pediatric specialty.
