Senior Nurse Manager, Evaluation Treatment Center

City of Hope National Medical Center, a world leader in cancer research, treatment, and prevention, is seeking a Senior Nurse Manager to lead their Evaluation Treatment Center (ETC). City of Hope National Medical Center (COH), an NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, is one of only 11 freestanding cancer hospitals in the country and has been ranked among the nation’s “Best Hospitals” in cancer by U.S. News & World Report for 14 consecutive years.

The Senior Nurse Manager is responsible for operational activities and program management for the ETC, the Infusion/Observation Unit and the PICC team. The ETC has 15 bays and 3 triage rooms and the Infusion/Observation Unit has 13 beds and 2 infusion chairs. Direct reports: two Nurse Managers and a total of 70 FTEs.

The Senior Nurse Manager works collaboratively to:
• Ensure optimal delivery of patient care and uses data to drive decisions.
• Facilitates team building interactions with staff and establishes collaborative relationships with physicians and advanced practice providers.
• Collaborates with both internal and external customers to meet strategic goals.
• Serves as a change agent and effectively facilitates change(s) with staff.
• Monitors and control resources, including staff, equipment, and supplies.
• Provides excellent customer service.
• Encourages higher learning and professional development of staff/self.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Master’s required or must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
• A minimum of 3 years’ leadership experience in either ED/Critical Care/Oncology services.
• Certification in specialty or nursing leadership required or must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
• California RN license required.
• Ability to serve as an effective change agent.
• Union experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
