Associate Chief Nurse Perioperative Services

Newton-Wellesley Hospital (NWH) is seeking an experienced, contemporary nurse leader to assume the role of Associate Chief Nurse (ACN) Perioperative Services. The position has responsibility for the strategic oversight and operational performance of perioperative services and the cardiovascular center (CVC). The scope of accountability includes 22 ORs, which includes 4 ORS at the outpatient surgery center (OSC), PACU, Pre-Op holding & testing, Endoscopy and 2hybrid ORs for IR and CV procedures (CVC). The ACN reports directly to the SVPPCS/CNO. Direct reports to this position include 3 Nursing Directors (OR, PACU, Endoscopy), 2 Clinical Nurse Managers (OSC & CVC/Radiology), Manager of Central Supply Processing and an Operations Manager. The ACNO is an essential member of the executive Nursing leadership team and will collaborate with key administrative, nursing, and medical leaders to meet all organizational, service line, and department goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Masters’ degree in nursing or healthcare related field.
• Minimum of five years perioperative leadership experience (OR experience required).
• Experience with mentoring a leadership team to achieve clinical outcomes and operational efficiencies.
• Experience with developing a sustainable nurse staffing model.
• Ability to develop an integrated model of perioperative nursing services.

Newton, MA, is a suburban city in greater Boston. It is approximately 7 miles west of downtown Boston and all the city has to offer. Population of Newton is approximately 86,000, making it the eleventh largest city in the state. Rather than having a single city center, Newton resembles a patchwork of thirteen villages. The thirteen villages, many boasting small downtown areas of their own, are: Auburndale, Chestnut Hill, Newton Centre, Newton Corner, Newton Highlands, Newton Lower Falls, Newton Upper Falls (both on the Charles River), Newtonville, Nonantum (also called “The Lake”), Oak Hill, Thompsonville, Waban and West Newton.
