Associate Chief Nursing Officer, Acute Care

The Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) will be responsible for a MedSurg ICU/Step-Down Unit with 24 beds, a Medical Oncology unit with 29 beds, a Medical Renal Unit with 39 beds, Dialysis, the Cancer program including both inpatient and outpatient infusion, the Float Pool with 140 nurses, a 19 bed Observation Unit, and the House Supervisors. The ACNO will coach and mentor the Directors to achieve their Quality, Safety and Patient Experience scores. The ACNO will report to Shelley Welch, the Chief Nursing Officer who joined CMFHT in September of 2017. Direct reports to the position include five Directors and three full time House Supervisors. The MedSurg ICU Step-Down unit is slated to move to the new tower in the first quarter of 2020 and will double in size from 24 beds to 48 beds. In addition, the ACNO will work collaboratively with the Ancillary Departments to improve processes and the patient experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, one of which must be in Nursing.
  • Current or eligible for RN license to practice nursing in TX.
  • Seven (7) years of progressive management experience in MedSurg and or Critical Care in a complex organization.
  • Experience with Magnet or Pathways to Excellence highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor front line leadership to achieve metrics.
