Director Ambulatory Nursing and Clinical Services

The Jimmy Fund Clinic is seeking a dynamic nursing leader with strong oncology and leadership experience to assume the position of Director of Ambulatory Nursing and Clinical Services.

The Director will partner with the Medical Director of the Clinic and the Administrative Operations Director in a triad leadership model.  The incumbent will be charged with refining systems to handle the increased volume, updating the patient scheduling process and improving communication among the interdisciplinary team.   Direct reports include: Staff RNs, NPs and Clinic Assistants.  The Director will need to have the ability to manage and lead in a busy ambulatory care setting with competing demands for time and resources.

The Jimmy Fund Clinic includes:

  • A new expansive infusion room with both shared and private spaces and activity options.
  • Multiple consultation rooms to provide families private meeting spaces.
    Procedure rooms designed to allow procedures such as spinal taps during patient appointments; the ability to provide sedation for procedures assures patient comfort and convenience.
  • The Blum Pediatric Resource Room equipped with a Child Life Specialist and resources for parents and activities and iPad for children and teens.
  • Its own independent pharmacy.

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate and Master’s degree required; one of which must be in Nursing.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of MA.
  • Nurse Leadership experience is required, must be in either Pediatric or Oncology environment.
  • Hematology – Oncology experience required. OCN, AOCN, or CPON preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, 5 years’ experience in oncology, including supervision of nursing and administrative personnel.
  • Deep knowledge of Pediatric Oncology nursing practice and patient care within the Hematology/Oncology field.
  • A visible leader with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work with budgets and develop action plans based on financial, volume, and variance reports.
