Director of Nursing – Orange County

The Director of Nursing – City of Hope Orange County offers an outstanding opportunity for a nursing leader to participate in the development and opening of a new campus in Orange County, CA.  The Irvine campus’ Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, which is under construction, will welcome patients in 2022, followed by the county’s only specialty cancer hospital slated to open in 2025, providing leading edge patient care in contemporary inpatient and outpatient facilities.   The Director of Nursing – Orange County will assist in creating the foundation for nursing practice excellence by designing programs for Quality, Magnet, Education, Regulatory compliance, as well as establishing standards of nursing practice, policies and procedures, and innovative programs to improve care delivery.

City of Hope National Medical Center (COH), Duarte, CA is a world leader in cancer research, treatment, and prevention.  COH, an NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, is one of only 11 freestanding cancer hospitals in the country and has been ranked among the nation’s “Best Hospitals” in cancer by U.S. News & World Report for 14 consecutive years.

  Position Highlights:

  • Support the development of a new, full-service cancer center and specialty hospital offering research, treatment and prevention.
  • Design the foundation of a professional nursing practice model through the development of standards for quality, regulatory compliance, and Magnet designation.
  • Join a newly established hospital leadership team that is passionate about providing excellence in cancer care services to the community.
  • Serve as a member of the COH nursing leadership team to advance the practice of nursing in oncology.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and master’s degree, one of which must be in Nursing.
  • A minimum of 7 years nursing experience and 5 years in nursing leadership.
  • Knowledge of the complexity of oncology patient care.
  • Knowledge of Quality, Magnet and Regulatory compliance.
