Director of Oncology

UCSF – Washington Cancer Center (UCSF-WCC), an affiliation between Washington Hospital and UCSF (University of California San Francisco) Health, is seeking candidates for their Director of Oncology.  UCSF-WCC provides oncology patients with access to the latest cancer research, technology, and treatment in a comforting and convenient environment, while significantly improving the lives of their patients.

Washington Hospital Healthcare System (WHHS) includes a 415-bed, Magnet designated hospital, as well as a Neuroscience Institute, Radiation Oncology Center, and Institute for Joint Restoration and Research. WHHS strategically partners with leading medical institutions, including UCSF Health, to bring academic-level medical research, programs, and experts to the local community.

The Director of Oncology works collaboratively to: 

• Assure optimal care and patient satisfaction for 9 infusion chairs and an outpatient clinic.
• Ensure continued growth of the department with the development of new programs and services.
• Define and establish program goals and objectives, with the Chief of Strategic Management and the CNO.
• Assess current department programs and services and make recommendations for improvements.
• Perform monthly budget reconciliations and ensure the oncology department’s fiscal accountability.
• Partner with UCSF to ensure quality metrics are established and clinical care is exemplary.
• Perform assessments and data collection in an ongoing systematic manner.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Five years nursing practice within an oncology specialty with demonstrated expertise.
• Progressive supervisory and leadership experience in nursing administration.
• Current CA RN licensure.
• Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification.
