Director, Women & Children’s Services

Kirby Bates Associates is honored to be partnering with Huntington Hospital, a 619-bed Magnet designated, sophisticated community teaching hospital in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley, to recruit a Director, Women & Children’s Services. Huntington’s women & children’s services includes obstetrics & obstetrics emergency department, L&D, mother/baby unit, perinatal high risk, fetal surgery program, NICU and pediatric/telemetry unit, as well as doula and gestational diabetes programs. The Director is responsible for the performance of all clinical services and program management for approximately 3,200 OB/ED annual visits and 3,000 births. The department includes 8 room L&D, 3 ORs, 4-bed OB ED, 12-bed high-risk perinatal unit, 44-bed mother baby unit, 51-bed Level III NICU, and 18-bed pediatric/telemetry unit. The Director reports to the VP CNO and is responsible for approximately 265 FTEs. Direct reports include three nurse managers and two perinatal safety nurses.

The Director works collaboratively to:

  • Facilitate team building with staff and establish collaborative relationships with physicians.
  • Develop and implement the maternal/child strategic business plan.
  • Serve as a change agent and effectively facilitate change(s) with staff.
  • Manage financials of the service line; and provide annual departmental budget, cost analysis and cost containment.
  • Ensure programmatic quality improvement as a basis for service enrichment and regulatory compliance.
  • Role model excellent customer service and hold staff accountable to providing excellent patient care.

Qualifications:

  • BSN and a master’s degree in nursing, business administration or health administration.
  • Five years of related perinatal experience with a minimum of three years of leadership experience.
  • California RN license or eligibility.
  • Demonstrated collaborative leadership experience.
  • Ability to ensure optimal delivery of patient care using data to drive decisions.
  • Experience building and ensuring positive staff engagement.
