Exec Director Nursing Advanced Practice Providers

City of Hope National Medical Center, a world leader in cancer research, treatment, and prevention, is seeking an Executive Director, Nursing – Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). City of Hope National Medical Center (COH), an NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, is one of only 11 freestanding cancer hospitals in the country.

The Executive Director contributes to the development and execution of the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan and directs operations of all COH inpatient, outpatient, and community APPs, ensuring consistent practice. The Executive Director is a licensed nursing professional with management and leadership expertise who plans, directs, coordinates, and leads the advanced practice function.

The Executive Director is responsible for working collaboratively with the COH medical staff to provide high quality, safe patient care. In addition, the Executive Director is responsible for ensuring that the APPs and their clinical practice meet Joint Commission standards, support patient rights, organizational ethics, and CMS regulation guidelines, while promoting a strong emphasis on empathy and compassionate care. The Executive Director works collaboratively with other leaders and the medical staff to assure delivery of differentiated, affordable, high quality and personalized health care in an accessible, patient-friendly, research focused environment.

The Executive Director promotes recruitment, retention, onboarding, and training of high caliber Advanced Practice Providers; maintains budgetary oversight for the cost centers and provides direct supervision of APP Managers. The Executive Director serves as a role model, resource, and mentor for advancing patient care and improving performance through participation in the COH Nursing Shared Decision-Making Councils.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Nursing required.
  • A minimum of 7 years in nursing leadership; experience in leading APPs.
  • Certification in a nursing specialty and or leadership.
  • California RN license required. Nurse Practitioner certification required.
  • Proven track record of strategic programmatic leadership.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills.
