The Position:
The Director, Medical Surgical Unit contributes to the organization with the responsibility for the implementation and evaluation of comprehensive care for patients as provided by Nursing Department personnel. The Director is accountable for patient safety, quality of care, and fiscal management of the Unit. The position collaborates with and reports to the VP Patient Care Services, CNO in assessing staffing needs, budget recommendations, strategic planning, hiring and staff performance.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Current/eligible for a valid Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in clinical nursing.
- Previous experience as a supervisor, coordinator, or manager precepting new nurses preferred.
