Kirby Bates Associates is pleased to partner with Phoenix Children’s Hospital in their search for a Vice President, Professional Practice within Nursing Administration.

Phoenix Children’s Hospital is an academic acute care children’s hospital with 457 beds and an affiliation with the University of Arizona College-Phoenix. With the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in Arizona, Phoenix Children’s has more than 1200 pediatric specialists and Centers of Excellence in neurology, cardiology, orthopedics, cancer and blood disorders, and neonatal intensive care. The Vice President, Professional Practice leads nursing education, professional nursing practice and research with a focus on nursing outcomes. Programmatic areas include new staff orientation, nurse-sensitive quality indicators, regulatory compliance, evidence-based practice, and nursing research.

Opportunity Highlights: 

• Join a nationally recognized children’s hospital as an executive nursing leader overseeing the nurse residency program, simulation lab, shared governance, and educational partnerships.
• Onboard 600 new nurses a year to drive new hospital grown with East Valley Hospital in 2022 and West Valley hospital scheduled for 2023.
• Support the Magnet journey and drive improvements in clinical metrics and nursing documentation renewal.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Nursing or a Master’s degree in a related field with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing required. Doctor of Nursing Practice preferred.
• Five or more years of clinical and pediatric experience in nursing with at least two years of leadership required.
• Active RN license and ANCC required.
• Certification in Nursing Professional Development or related nursing clinical certification area preferred.
