Emory Healthcare has exclusively retained Kirby Bates Associates to conduct a search for a Director of Peri-Anesthesia Patient Care Services for Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM) and the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Midtown (WEM).
The Director of Peri-Anesthesia will lead and manage clinical operations, drive performance in quality, safety, and patient satisfaction, and oversee strategic growth across the peri-anesthesia service line. This role requires a visionary and collaborative nurse leader with a strong operational and clinical foundation.

Opportunity Highlights:

  • Provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across EUHM and WEM.
  • Lead quality and safety initiatives in collaboration with the Office of Quality and interprofessional teams.
  • Standardize orientation, training, and competency programs across the system.
  • Mentor and develop peri-anesthesia nursing leaders and frontline staff.
  • Champion professional practice, diversity, and a culture of engagement.
  • Oversee resource utilization and budgets to support high-quality, cost-effective care delivery.
  • EUHM is ranked 4th in Georgia and 3rd in metro Atlanta by US News and World Report.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees required, one of which must be in nursing. Doctorate preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible senior nursing leadership experience.
  • Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC, NEA-BC) or comparable (CNML, CENP) required within one year of hire.
  • Valid RN license in the state of Georgia, or eligible.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing operations, quality improvement, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working in a Magnet-designated organization or on the Magnet journey preferred.
