Associate Chief Nurse, Ambulatory

The ACN is administratively responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all ambulatory clinical activities relating to patient care, nursing practice, nursing education & clinical development, and evaluation of the activities of Ambulatory Nursing across the MGH Ambulatory Enterprise and MGPO.  This role reports in a matrixed structure to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Ambulatory Care & Patient Experience.

The ACN is a key member of the ambulatory leadership team and collaborates with the Ambulatory Medical Director, the Ambulatory Executive Director, the office of the Chief Nurse, to ensure excellence in the provision of quality care and compliance with professional standards, regulatory guidelines, and policies & procedures.  The ACN engages in effective collaborations across the hospital, as well as MGB, to develop and promote the strategic direction of the MGH ambulatory enterprise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degree required, one of which must be in Nursing. Doctorate preferred.
  • Certification in Ambulatory Care and/or Nursing leadership strongly encouraged.
  • Experience in Ambulatory Clinic Operations management.
  • Expertise in using quality tools and process improvement.
  • Ten years of nursing experience, minimum of five years leadership experience preferably in an academic medical center.
