Kirby Bates Associates is pleased to partner with Massachusetts General Hospital in their search for an Associate Chief Nurse (ACN), Medicine and Heart Center Nursing.

The Knight Nursing Center’s Transition to Practice Program at MGH was accredited with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

The ACN, in collaboration with other disciplines and departmental colleagues, ensures that competent, compassionate patient care is consistently provided and is accountable for nursing care quality, financial, human resource, and satisfaction outcomes. The ACN will have overall responsibility for two Cardiac ICUs, three 36 bed Cardiac Step-Down Units, a Medical ICU, a Respiratory Care Unit, 11 general Medicine Units, Hemodialysis Service, and a Translational Research Unit. Leadership responsibility spans 20 Nursing Directors (ND) and a total of 1,400 FTEs. Each unit is supported by a ND and a Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, one of which must be in Nursing. Doctorate preferred.
• Certification in Nursing leadership required (specialty optional).
• Seven years of progressively responsible leadership experience in an academic medical center.
• Proven success improving capacity management.
