Chief Executive Officer

Kirby Bates/Tyler & Company is pleased to announce we have been retained for an exciting search for a Chief Executive Officer for Pacific Vision Foundation in San Francisco, California.

THE ORGANIZATION

Pacific Vision Foundation (PVF), based in San Francisco, is seeking a Chief Executive Officer, who has an operations bent and “roll-up sleeves” style to this growing organization. PVF has a mission to provide excellent eye care for all regardless of ability to pay.  The mission of the organization is built on three pillars: Excellence, Education and Community Service.

Pacific Vision Foundation is the funding body behind the Pacific Vision Eye Institute. Inspired by the Aravind Eye Care System in India, known for its groundbreaking business model providing high volume, high quality and affordable eye care, Pacific Vision Foundation is pioneering an innovative social model to provide eye care for all.  (https://aravind.org/)

Pacific Vision Eye Institute is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art, comprehensive eye care to
all regardless of income. Headquartered in the heart of San Francisco near the Civic Center, the Eye Institute is much greater than the walls that encompass the building at 711 Van Ness. The Eye Institute is a comprehensive eye center, providing the highest level of patient care, medical education and community service led by world renowned ophthalmologists.

For 40 years Pacific Vision Foundation (PVF) has focused on supporting the physicians and researchers providing care to disadvantaged patients.  PVF has donated millions of dollars for the restoration of sight, for the education of the next generation of doctors and to clinical vision research.  (http://www.pacificvisionfoundation.org/)

THE OPPORTUNITY

It is an exciting time to join Pacific Vision Foundation as the organization continues its evolution as the premier vision care delivery model in San Francisco. This is an opportunity for a passionate, visionary leader to move this important organization toward future growth, with a large focus on philanthropic and clinical delivery, through the outpatient clinic (Lions Eye Foundation Clinic & Frank Stein and Paul S. May Center for Low Vision Rehabilitation) and the new Pacific Vision Surgery Center (opened Fall 2020).

The CEO is primarily responsible for providing the leadership, vision and direction for all activities associated with the Pacific Vision Foundation mission. The CEO will be responsible for executing the strategy, vision, and goals of PVF. This position works in partnership with the Board to develop and execute strategic initiatives impacting patient care and the provision of clinical services. The CEO will work closely with other PVF partner relationships across the San Francisco Bay Area to support and further PVF’s impact on clinical delivery models of care, research, and education missions of PVF.
