Emory Healthcare has exclusively retained Kirby Bates Associates to conduct a search for a Director, Perioperative Services for Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM) and the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Midtown (WEM).

Magnet Designated EUHM has over 600 beds, including 86 ICU beds, a level III neonatal intensive care unit, 4 hyperbaric oxygen units and 28 operating rooms. The 17-story WEM, with 6 operating rooms, offers a full-service cancer center joining outpatient and inpatient cancer care. Winship is the only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Georgia.

The Director of Perioperative Services will lead and manage clinical operations and be accountable for budget oversight, resource allocation, and strategic growth initiatives to ensure high-quality, cost-effective patient care as well as staff/patient satisfaction performance goals.

Opportunity Highlights:   

• Lead perioperative services across 28 ORs at EUHM, 6 ORs at WEM and 8 endoscopy suites.
• Direct reports include 2 nurse managers and 4 assistant nurse managers.
• Lead change and process improvement with a collaborative interprofessional team.
• Mentor, grow, and develop the perioperative leadership team.
• EUHM is ranked 4th in Georgia and 3rd in metro Atlanta by US News and World Report.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in nursing required, Doctorate preferred.
• Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible senior nursing leadership experience.
• Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC, NEA-BC) or comparable certifications (CNML or CENP) must be obtained within one year of hire.
• A valid RN license required, or eligible for, in the state of GA.
• Experience working within a Magnet hospital or on a Magnet journey preferred.
