City of Hope National Medical Center (COH), a world leader in cancer research, treatment, and prevention, is seeking candidates for their VP, ACNO, Clinical Network Sites and Community Outreach. COH, a Magnet recognized, NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, has been ranked among the nation’s “Best Hospitals” in cancer by U.S. News & World Report for over a decade.  City of Hope’s growing system includes its main Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, CA, scheduled to open later in 2022, and Cancer Treatment Centers of America.  COH brings a uniquely integrated model to patients, spanning cancer care, research and development, academics and training, and innovation initiatives. Research and technology developed at COH has been the basis for numerous breakthrough cancer medicines.

The VP, ACNO is responsible for more than 30 practice sites, ranging from multidisciplinary specialty oncology clinics offering medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, infusion suites and physician practices, to free standing radiation oncology clinics, and physician practices.  The VP, ACNO will serve as a member of the triad leadership team in collaboration with the VP for Network Operations and the Senior Medical Director. Direct reports are four Regional Nursing Directors (RND).

The VP, ACNO works collaboratively to:

  • Assimilate the practice sites into the COH network.
  • Establish and implement standardized nursing practice, competencies, orientation, onboarding, policies, and procedures.
  • Expand clinical research to the network sites.
  • Build relationships, along with the RND, with nursing leaders and oncologists in hospitals throughout the region.
  • Implement and ensure Clinic-based Shared Governance Councils.
  • Facilitates team building interactions with staff and establishes collaborative relationships with physicians/APPs.
  • Responsible for quality, safety, innovation, and overall process improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Nursing required. PhD/DNP preferred.
  • Certification in nursing specialty and or leadership.
  • Fifteen years Nursing experience with a minimum of 10 years in nursing leadership.
  • Experience in ambulatory cancer care, preferably in an NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
  • Magnet experience.
